Shashidhar Chiron is the Founder and Chairman of SASE. Born in Chitradurga, a region in Karnataka known for its socio-economic challenges, Shashi’s early life was shaped by significant adversity, including the absence of family and economic support. These formative experiences instilled in him a profound sense of purpose and grit, driving his lifelong commitment to education as a transformative tool for empowerment.
Shashi has dedicated his efforts to creating impactful educational and employment opportunities for youth facing substantial challenges. In 2010, at the age of 24, he embarked on an entrepreneurial journey to establish a fully accredited college in India. The institution offered graduate and post-graduate degree programs, specifically tailored to support at-risk youth. Starting with limited resources, the college grew rapidly, graduating over 6,000 students by the time it merged into a university in 2022.
His work has garnered recognition at both national and international levels. He was awarded the Young Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum, and was appointed as Consultant to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), through these recognitions and responsibilities, Shashi has contributed to global initiatives that bridge education and social development in India.
A lifelong learner, Shashi holds an MBA, and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Education, with a thesis on Posthumanism education. Over the past decade, he has taught Entrepreneurship and Systems Thinking to undergraduate and postgraduate students, he is currently pursuing research in Educational Neuroscience.
Beyond education, Shashi is a passionate advocate for environmental conservation. His love for scuba diving and underwater exploration reflects his belief in the interconnectedness of education, the environment, and community well-being. He is GUE - Global Under Water Explorers qualified Cave and Tech diver. With over 800 dives in varied water conditions around the globe, he uses his experiences to educate children about the importance of oceans, sustainability, and stewardship.

At SASE, he has fostered a culture of love, care, and purpose, inspiring educators to nurture children into becoming their authentic selves and enabling them through meaningful education.
