He brings unique ideas to the SASE and the local educational ecosystem through his studies, such as using EEG neuro-imaging to assess children's learning difficulties. Shashi is also a passionate GUE diver and underwater explorer. Qualified by GUE and RAID organisations for Technical, Technical Cave, and Technical Wreck diving, he has more than 800 dives in varied underwater conditions around the world for exploration, education and conservation purposes.

He believes in the power of nurturing between children and nature. Furthering his passion for diving, Shashi is building an ocean campus at Thulusdhoo island of The Maldives in partnership with the local government, where children from around the world come to learn diving and learn about our underwater world through research and grow an intimate connection with nature and technology. He has introduced therapeutic scuba diving to our special needs children in their after-school therapies program at SASE.

Shashi believes that education is the seed through which a healthier society may grow and thrive. With a strong belief in the power of educational opportunity as a way to improve society from the ground up, he is creating the change we want to see in the world.
