Shashidhar Chiron

Founder & Chairman- SASE | Educator | Visionary Edupreneur

Born in Chitradurga, a region in Karnataka marked by its socio-economic challenges, Shashi’s early years were shaped by the absence of family and financial support. Out of these formative hardships emerged a profound sense of purpose and resilience, nurturing in him the conviction that education is the most transformative tool for empowerment and social renewal.

Guided by this vision, Shashi has dedicated his life to creating opportunities for young people facing formidable barriers. In 2010, with no external funding and only limited resources, he founded a fully accredited college in India. Built entirely from the ground up as a self-sustaining institution, the college offered graduate and postgraduate degree programmes tailored to support at-risk youth. Against all odds, it grew into a thriving centre of learning, enabling over 6,000 students to graduate before merging into a university in 2022.

His work has since earned recognition at national and international levels. He was named a Young Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum and appointed Consultant to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Through these engagements, he has contributed to initiatives that link education with social and economic development, amplifying his impact beyond institutional walls.

A lifelong learner, Shashi holds an MBA and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Education, where his thesis explored Posthumanism in education. Over the past fifteen years, he has taught Entrepreneurship and Systems Thinking to both undergraduate and postgraduate students and is now pursuing research in Educational Neuroscience.

Beyond his professional life in education, Shashi is deeply committed to environmental conservation. A passionate scuba diver and Global Underwater Explorers–qualified Cave and Technical diver, he has completed over 800 dives in varied waters across the globe. His experiences beneath the surface have shaped his belief in the interconnectedness of education, environment, and community well-being, inspiring him to introduce children to the importance of oceans, sustainability, and stewardship.

Guided by the philosophy of Posthumanist education, SASE embodies Shashi’s bold and thoughtful vision for the future of the world. At SASE, he has fostered a culture of love, care, and purpose—one that inspires educators to nurture children into becoming their authentic selves while enabling them through meaningful education.
