Arpita Benjamin

Arpitha is a special educator who enjoys working with younger children. She has years of experience working with students in special education and expertise in working with neurodiverse students. Specifically, she has supported dyslexic, Autistic, and ADHD students learn the fundamentals of reading, writing, mathematics, sensory strategies, and student-led learning.

She was a valued special educator at Bangalore International School for many years. She believes strongly in inclusive education and for all children to be given equal opportunities. She enjoys teaching children through play and would take all of her classes outdoors if given the chance!

Arpitha’s goal for teaching is to support student’s interests and to teach them the skills (academic and life skills) most valuable to them in this moment of their life as well as skills that will lead to their future success. She believes that as much as possible the process of teaching should be individualized to the student. It should emphasize their strengths, be engaging and appropriate for their developmental level, and help them understand their resistances and their struggles.
